This is our most fetch tool (yep we are still trying to make fetch happen).

 

Sometimes when we are feeling angry, upset or stressed we just need to get it all out. Writing a letter, reading it out loud and burning it can let us get out some of the pent up emotions that are bubbling inside of us. It's important that instead of just bottling up and burying these emotions that we recognise what we are feeling.

 

Burn Book is all about acknowledging the emotions you're feeling, getting them out and then letting them go. 

Sit down somewhere comfy and start to focus on yourself. Maybe put your phone on airplane mode or mute your computer so you dont get any messenger notifications. 

Alright. Now think about something that has been weighing you down recently. It might be a friend or family member that has been frustrating you, an activity that you have been struggling with lately or just a feeling that's weighing on your chest. 

I want you to really think about it. What emotions are coming up? Do you feel sad, or angry or maybe disappointed. Is your heart beating faster? What's your breath doing as you think about it? If you close your eyes what can you see, what pops into your mind?

Take a deep breath in, now let it all out. 

Start by addressing your letter to either the person who you need to vent about, or to what's getting you down. Then just let it all loose! 

 

For example I might write. 

Dear Soccer Training,

I'm feeling really stressed and worried every time I have to get ready to come to training - I just feel crappy and don't want to any more. Last session I was cold and hungry and just didn't want to be there. I used to love soccer training so much so why do I hate it now! Also an hour and a half is way too long! Don't you understand that I have other stuff going on! AND I never have a partner to go with in drills anymore which makes me feel lame. And some of the girls in the team are useless and they still get picked for the team which is so annoying. 

Now take a moment, think about all those thoughts and emotions leaving your body. 

THEN PRESS BURN AND SEE YOUR WORDS GO UP IN FLAMESSSSSSSSS.
